Video Games - good or bad for you?

i was in a lesson one day and my teacher said we could have free time..so i deiced to play some online games i.e miniclip.com

then he approached me and said "don't play video games all you're doing is killing brain cells"

I was wondering..is he right? or are there any other affects of video games?

are they good for us?

just a general question thats been bugging me...thanx

It all depends on what type of game you're playing, puzzlers certainly aren't killing off brain cells they're stimulating them.

Even shoot em up's are good for keeping your eye hand co-ordintion up. Brain teasers are the best though.

All games can be good if they are played in moderation. You just need to keep doing the necessities in life too, like browsing the internet, reading emails and signing up to sites you're never going to visit again.

it annoys me so much that people like to critisize and demonise gaming entirely...
